A former cybercrime investigator with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India, he played a pivotal role in pioneering computer-aided investigations and forensic techniques. His tenure included representing India at the 2nd International Conference on Computer Crimes organized by Interpol, as well as serving as an adjunct faculty member at various esteemed institutions.

As a co-founder of two technology start-ups and a proponent of another consulting venture, Dr. Ponnoly is deeply committed to innovation and leadership in the field. He actively contributes to professional associations like ISACA, ISSA, and IEEE, while holding leadership positions within these organizations. His scholarly contributions include a doctoral dissertation on early warning signs of cyber disasters and a published book on disruptive technologies titled "Gateway to the Quantum Age."
